Well Done to Our Football Champions.

Pupils from Years 5 and 6 took part in a football tournament at Great Torrington Secondary School against primary schools from across the Torridge area. West Croft “Pumas” won all three of their group games to top group 2; Langtree Primary (5 v 0), Bradworthy Primary B (6 v 0) and Great Torrington Bluecoats Primary B (5 v 0). West Croft “Tigers” won two of their 4 group games; Monkleigh Primary (2 v 1) and Shebbear Primary (2 v 0) but were unfortunate to lose against Great Torrington Bluecoats A (1 v 2) and Bradworthy (1 v 4). The boys achieved a 3rd place finish in group 1, well done! West Croft “Pumas” then played Great Torrington Bluecoats A in the semi-final and won 3 v 0 to secure a place in the final. In the final, the boys did extremely well and won 2 v1 against Langtree (who they had played earlier in the group stages) to win the competition!
West Croft “Tigers”: Riley W, Finley D, Noah C, Harry L, Harvey E & Lucas E.
West Croft “Pumas”: Jack M, Riley H, Corey T, Josh B, Alistair A & Jaylen T. Well done to all that took part!

Cross Country Champions.

Amazing success for our KS2 children who took part in the local schools cross country event held at Kingsley school. 38 children competed against others from St Mary’s C of E Primary, Kingsley Primary, Monkleigh Primary and Appledore Primary School. In the Year 3 boys’ section Tayla came third and Libbie came third in the Year 5 girls’ race. Harvey was runner up in the Year 6 boys’ race and there were two first place finishes with Gypsy winning the Year 5 girls’ race and Alistair winning the Year 5 boys’ race. It wasn’t just the individuals mentioned who did incredibly well as children were also competing as a team. The lowest scoring team (i.e. 1st place = 1 point, 2nd place = 2 points etc. – each pupil having a score) won a trophy. West Croft had the lowest scoring points for both the Year 3 and 4 category and the Year 5 and 6 category which meant that we came away with not one but two fantastic trophies!

Well done to all pupils that competed!
