Football Tournament
Year 5 and 6 took part in the North Devon Girls' Football Tournament at Bratton Fleming. The schools were split into two groups with 6 teams in one group and 7 in the other. Only 2 teams from each group went through to the semi-final and with a 3-0 defeat in their first match, the girls needed to have plenty of success in their remaining games to progress. The girls bounced back and won 3 and drew 1 of their remaining group games. This resulted in the girls coming second in the group and achieving a semi-final place. In the semi-final, West Croft played against the winners of the other group - Shirwell. The girls battled well and had a couple of chance but unfortunately ended up losing 2-0. The girls then played the 3rd/4th place play off against St. Marys and played excellently to win 1-0.
A 3rd place finish was a fantastic achievement for the girls who have trained really well and developed their skills with Mark over the past academic year! Well done girls!

Year 5 and 6 took part in the North Devon Boys' football tournament at Bratton Fleming. After winning 3 group games and drawing 2, the boys came 2nd in their group and qualified for the quarter finals. A tough game against Bradworthy followed but an extra time goal was enough to secure a 1-0 win and a place in the semi-final for West Croft. In the semi-final, against CAEN primary, the West Croft boys played their best game of the tournament. West Croft took the lead inside 15 seconds and went onto to win 2-1.
The final saw West Croft go up against Our Lady's primary. The boys were full of confidence and came out 4-0 winners!
Congratulations to all of the boys who took part!
