At West Croft, the library is a vibrant and welcoming space where a love of reading is nurtured and celebrated. We are proud to offer an extensive and carefully curated collection of both fiction and non-fiction books, ensuring that every child can find something that sparks their interest and imagination.

In Key Stage 2, children are encouraged to take ownership of their reading journey. They can choose books independently from our wide range of titles, exploring different genres, authors, and topics at their own pace. Whether they are diving into an exciting adventure story, discovering fascinating facts, or exploring new ideas, every book opens the door to new learning experiences.

Once a book has been read, pupils complete an online quiz to check their understanding and reflect on what they have learned. This helps to develop comprehension skills and encourages thoughtful reading.

To keep motivation high and celebrate success, we offer a range of exciting incentives. Children are recognised for achievements such as reading the most words and completing the most books. In addition, milestone rewards are given when pupils successfully complete 10, 20, and 30 quizzes, providing clear goals and a sense of accomplishment along the way.

Our library is more than just a place to borrow books—it is a hub of curiosity, achievement, and a lifelong love of reading.
