The School Library
Welcome to our new West Croft Library.
The library has recently re-launched with the merger of our two libraries into one and is situated in the Year 3 block in the upper school.
The school library is open: Monday-Thursday at 8:20 to 8:50 am for pupils and parents and at lunchtimes 12:20 to 12:50 pm. for pupils.
The library is supervised either by Mrs Wingfield or Mrs Grout who are available to offer assistance and advice when open.
Come along to exchange books, find information for homework, or simply enjoy a book with your child.
The library offers both fiction and non-fiction books totalling over 3500 books.
Children are encouraged to borrow books to take home to read.
Reception and Year 1 pupils may borrow one book at a time and pupils in Years 2 to 6 may borrow an Accelerated Reader book and one other for their reading enjoyment.
The school library uses a computersied catalogue which helps us to keep track of our books and how many are borrowed by each child.
Stepping Stones - Enjoy Reading!
Stepping stones is an activity run by West Croft to encourage and support children in their enjoyment of reading. At key points throughout their reading your child will be awarded badges and certificates as incentives, with a special badge given when they reach 100 books.
